Most of her recent memories were gone and now Shiloh was questioning her purpose in life. Worse than that, her fearlessness at facing challenges was left in ashes. She looked for the llamas' pasture and took a wide detour away from the creature who spit at strangers. Then on the way past the chickens pecking at bugs in the dust of the Farmyard, a squawking ruckus arose that startled Shiloh backward several steps.
The worst, though, was her fear of fire. A farrier had come to shoe some of the horses and worked at a small forge smoking hot from the coals needed to soften the iron shoes enough to shape them to fit each horse. As flames occasionally shot upward, Shiloh froze.
Orange tongues of fire roared toward her like the angry bellow of a giant beast intent on swallowing her whole...
