The next time Tallie heard from Marly was via a reluctant phone call from Dawson sitting in his SUV outside a hospital in Boise, Idaho. He explained Marly had decided to look for her birth mother and found her at the hospital. "The doctors say Ruby has cancer and only a few months to live."
